Equal Chance Boxing Foundation

It was never just about boxing.

Ivan Redkach grew up with nothing handed to him. He knows what it means to be hungry, overlooked, and counted out — and what it takes to fight your way forward. The Equal Chance Boxing Foundation exists so the next kid in that position has something Ivan didn't always have: someone in their corner.

Why Ivan started this

Ivan Redkach left Ukraine for the United States in 2009 to chase a professional boxing career, arriving with little money, no safety net, and a language he barely spoke. There were stretches when a world-class fighter couldn't afford to eat. What carried him through wasn't talent alone — it was the discipline, structure, and belief that boxing had given him since he first walked into a gym at six years old.

Over a 16-year professional career, Ivan saw the same pattern again and again: talented young people held back not by a lack of ability, but by a lack of opportunity. Others drifted toward destructive paths simply because no one caught them early.

He founded the Equal Chance Boxing Foundation to be that early catch — to give kids, families, and people in recovery the structure, mentorship, and second chance that change the course of a life.

“I know what it's like when no one believes in you. Every kid deserves someone in their corner.”
