The Equal Chance Boxing Foundation was built on a simple belief: every champion deserves a chance. The foundation uses boxing training, mentorship, and community support to serve youth, underserved communities, and people rebuilding their lives through recovery-focused programs.
Talent should not be limited by the neighborhood a child is born into or by what a family can afford. That conviction is the engine behind everything the foundation does, from youth boxing to recovery and community training.
Who the foundation supports
The work is organized around three groups of people the program was designed to reach:
- Children and youth — a safe, structured environment to develop strength, discipline, and healthy habits through boxing.
- Families and individuals in need — training, mentorship, and wellness support for those facing financial or social barriers.
- Underserved communities — free or low-cost programs, equipment, and guidance so health is accessible regardless of income.
The programs
Three core programs carry the mission forward. The Youth Boxing Program gives children and teens structured training focused on discipline, respect, and personal responsibility. The Recovery Support Program gives people overcoming addiction a routine, a healthy outlet, and a place to rebuild self-discipline. The Community Training Program lowers financial barriers so individuals and families from underserved communities can train, learn, and belong.
How it works
Getting involved is intentionally simple. The foundation presents its programs as open to different experience levels, with training built around boxing fundamentals, fitness, discipline, and mentorship. The longer-term goal is bigger than a workout: participants learn structure, responsibility, and a path to contribute back to their community.
Partners in the work
The foundation does not do this alone. It partners with organizations across Los Angeles, including the Ronald McDonald House, the LA County Department of Parks & Recreation, and the Community Space Food Bank, among others, to extend its reach and impact.
The impact so far
